Plot summary

Nora is that girl: the one who works overtime, helps out her family by all means, and leaves little for herself. She can’t even fathom a love interest. With her one free hour a day, she takes out life’s hardships at the local mixed martial arts gym, but what happens when that comfort in violence extends outside of the gym?

If someone were to ask me why I

If someone were to ask me why I enjoy indie movies, I would suggest they watch Rag Doll. The actors, even those in the minor roles, were so believable that it made me wonder whether the main thing that separates the A list from the D list is luck and circumstance. The plot drew me in, and the twist at the end worked. One criticism: One of the issues driving the plot forward was a conflict between two of the actors, and, as a viewer, it was difficult for me to comprehend why they hated each other. The movie did include a few scenes that were intended to build-up a sense of antagonism between them, but it did not work. I just pictured them having lunch together during breaks in the filming. The problem was with the screenplay, not the actors. Still, Rag Dolls was enjoyable from beginning to end. Sometimes the challenge of working on a limited budget brings out the best in directors, actors, and screenwriters.
