Pretty Thing, starring Alicia Silverstone, attempts to explore the dynamic between an older woman and a younger man, but ultimately falls short due to weak storytelling and lack of emotional depth. While the premise suggests a mature, character-driven drama, the film relies far too heavily on explicit scenes instead of meaningful development. The screenplay feels unfocused and repetitive, offering little insight into why these characters are drawn to each other beyond physical attraction. The chemistry between the leads is awkward and unconvincing, making many moments uncomfortable rather than engaging. Instead of using intimacy to enhance the story, the film treats it as its main selling point, which quickly becomes exhausting. Whenever the plot seems ready to grow, it is interrupted by another unnecessary scene, hurting the pacing and overall impact. Silverstone delivers a sincere effort, but even her talent cannot overcome the weak script and shallow character work.
