I was hoping the whole Koyaanisqatsi trilogy would

I was hoping the whole Koyaanisqatsi trilogy would be as good as the first film, but this is a bit of a tragedy because obviously a lot of work went into Powaqqatsi. Unfortunately it doesn't rise to the same level, mainly due to chaotic editing. The scenes skip from one part of the world to another randomly, which doesn't allow you to focus on any particular setting, and if there is a message in this one, it's lost in the editing. It just comes across like a screensaver with moving images. Ultimately I was bored and had to force myself to watch it over several sittings.

I watched this with Philip Glass performing the music live with students from Juilliard. It was an encompassing event. I'm autistic and it was one of the most interesting sensory experiences I've had. Still profoundly relevant today.
