The Freelings' suburban home becomes the center of paranormal activity that opens a portal to the 'other side'. With help, they must cross over to get their daughter back.
At 29:20, Diane rearranges the six chairs around the table. Then, as she bends down to pick up a container and a cloth, you can see the plant moving above her head and the reflection of the team running on the waffle heater to exchange the chairs position
Story and producer Spielberg. All the movies Hooper directed are under 6.0. You think Spielberg will let Hooper destroy his story ? Same thing with Back to the future. Saw Spielberg on the set with zemeckis. Producers usually hire the director and can replace them if the project goes off track. Producers control the money and time, which forces creative compromises on set. Producers give notes on the script, casting choices, and the final edit. Studios and producers often hold the legal right to decide what the final movie looks like. This is a Spielberg touch not hooper
Always tought this one derailed a bit at the end, sure it has some genuinly creepy moments, but once those are over over it turns in a practical FX cacophony (an awesome one at that), so calling this a "horror" classics is stretch too far, i think. as for better haunted house movies try: The Innocents (1961), The Haunting (1963) , Hausu (1977), The Amityville Horror (1979), The Shining (1980), Ghostwatch (1992) and Burnt Offerings (1976) just to name a few.
Just goes to show that you don't need a sh!tload of gore or CGI FX to make a decent Horror flick... just a decent script and some credible actors. Apparently that's something that the US has forgotten :P
Best Haunted House/Ghost/Horror ever. Nothing will ever replace this in all of existence and time. They can remake it as they already have; but this version, this movie, these actors, are forever. This is thee movie that set in stone everything that ever tried / tries to copy it after. It should have stopped here. Poltergeist II is a cult classic but was never on par with the first and then III was just a shallow attempt at making money off the series rather than write and direct a worthy movie at all. RIP H. O'Rourke, Dominique Dunne, Zelda Rubenstein, et al. What a classic.
jaajaj no sean malos el director es Tobe Hooper, seguramente Spilbergo tuvo injerencia porque el STEVEN SPIELBERG pero el credito del diroctor que ya no esta entre nosotros.
