This was even better than remember it watching as a kid. Worldbuilding, with abandoned mining colony was great, atmospheric. Characters unique and memorable, cool story, cool main "hero", cool action. Top notch movie overall.

Underrated Sci-Fi horor.

Sorry Ayush, wrong. Prequel is a conjunction of two words combining previous (as in "events") and sequel. A sequel is a follow up to an original. If the story continues linearly it remains a sequel. If the story jumps back to a timeline before the events of the first story it becomes a sequel. So... yeah. Not a prequel.

This is not a prequel. A prequel is a movie made after the other movies are made. This is the first movie of Riddick, it goes Pitch Black, Dark Fury (animated), Chronicles of Riddick, then Riddick. A prequel is the game Escape from Butcher Bay in a way. Still though, this movie is THE first.
