He died of an overdose of Arsenic which was used as a Horse Tonic. His Groom was beside himself but back then they did not know that Arsenic never purges the body. The greatest Horse to ever Grace a Track. RIP.

best horse movie ever. seen it so many times. yeah he was bred here in New Zealand, but he was raised and trained in Aussie. But like a fair few things, bred in nz make it in oz.
