Plot summary

Quietly competent young Joanna moves with her scatterbrain mother to a country village to take up her first job as District Nurse. She soon overcomes the suspicion of her patients used to someone rather older, while becoming romantically involved with a local farmer - at least until he tries to evict a newly-arrived expectant couple who park their caravan on his land.

Nurse on Wheels is a fantastic film. It is about Joanna who moves with her scatterbrain mother to a country village to take up her first job as district nurse. Juliet Lewis and Ronald Lewis give excellent performances. The screenplay is well written. Gerald Thomas did a great job directing this movie. I enjoyed watching this motion picture because of the humor. Nurse on Wheels is a must.

After this film, Gerald Thomas spent the rest

After this film, Gerald Thomas spent the rest of the 60's and 70's mainly directing the Carry On Series which made his name, and it's a good thing too as this comedy is terrible. It features a few Carry On stalwarts despite not being in the same style, but they don't add much to proceedings as the rather straight script offers little in the way of jokes.
