Bette Davis at her best took some beating
Bette Davis shows why we loved her. Wow!
The films shows Bette Davis play a mentally troubled, black sheep of the family (Charlotte Vale) at the start of the film and transform into an independent, fashionable socialite towards the end.
Controlled at the start by a mother who wouldn't look out of place in Hitchcock's Rebecca (1940) as the evil mother. She is that hard on Charlotte.
As for Charlotte, she reminds me of the Adrian Balboa character in the more recent Rocky franchise. A timid, unfashionable character in Rocky who metomorphosises into a confident character as the films go on.
Look or rather listen to great music score that got Oscar recognition for Max Steiner.
Look out for esteemed actor Claude Rains as the psychiatrist who treats Charlotte at the beginning.
The Voyager in the title refers to a cruise voyage that Charlotte goes on as part of her therapy.
Another excellent WWII era film.
