Great social message...but badly acted, slow developed, and for some reason a half cow half dog thing... The message of animal testing and how it is warranted for sake of human benefit (and corporate gain) is an interesting debate. Unfortunately this movie doesn't do the message justice and goes for cheap gore and illogic.

A fragmented and meandering but interesting and well

A fragmented and meandering but interesting and well shot quasi horror film from Larry Fessenden, No Telling is pretty obscure, but it tells the age-old story of science screwing around with nature and facing the consequences. It raises some good points about organic farming, the ethics of animal experiments and the troubles a relationship can suffer when one member is buried in their work. It looks great for a low budget film, the sound is crisp and the acting is pretty good. We get to spend a lot of time with a relatively small cast of characters, so we get to know how they think and behave, and nobody acts completely out of character just for the sake of the plot. Some of the messaging is very on the nose, and there’s a lingering sense that the film has one note and is determined to play it as hard as possible and for as long as possible, but it’s still an example of how a horror film can touch on some very sensitive realities and do it without half measures.
