LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE (1974) was the first

LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE (1974) was the first European effort to adopt the Romero model, which it does exceptionally well. Framed through institutional criticism that both provokes and follows the rise of the undead, its overall execution makes a strong case for why it should be considered essential viewing for anyone with a soft spot for the genre.

Starts a little slow with a BriTV vibe

Starts a little slow with a BriTV vibe to it. Few holes in the plot and good acting. Zombie action ramps up halfway though til the end. Great make up and special effects for 51 years ago. Recommend!

A misanthropic, haunting and chilling eco-horror flick. Absolutely

A misanthropic, haunting and chilling eco-horror flick. Absolutely effective in it's horror to this day, both visually and conceptually, with a few traces of Lovecraftian horror into the mix alongside it's main zombie plot. This is one of the movies where even if you loved it, you would NOT watch it again due to it's sheer mean-spirit, prominent to trigger and disturb even the most cynical and/or nihilistic viewer.
