You’re a fan of old-style sci-fi movies then

you’re a fan of old-style sci-fi movies then you might get a bit more from this quite enjoyable animated feature. It all happens when a mysterious asteroid lands amidst an urban zoo and from it emerges a critter that likes to absorb any life forms it finds. Ergo, a bit like in “Gremlins” (1984), we soon have a multitude of these glowing bug-eyed animals ranging from the smallest frog to a giant gorilla marauding all over the place. Luckily, plucky Wolf “Gracie” had got herself into an altercation earlier in the evening so was safely incarcerated in the vet’s office alongside a large mountain lion and a sagely French monkey who seems determined on providing us with a commentary of events comparing what now ensues with the plots of the aforementioned movies. In keeping with that spirit, we just know that the only way to thwart this expansive alien will be something as plain as the noses on their faces, but can the team stay in absorbed long enough to discover just what that is? This is quite good fun, fairly action-packed and has the best cable car contretemps since Richard Burton’s in “Where Eagle’s Dare” back in 1968! I know it’s a bit cheesy, but I also couldn’t help liking the Pygmy hippo ”Poot” whom, ordinarily, I’d just want to roast but here I found her to be quite friendly. You’ll probably never remember this film, but if you do recall those pesky “Triffids” and their other pals from the “Outer Limits”, then it might make you smile.

Perfect gateway horror for younger audiences

I am usually not someone who watches PG animated horror, but since I am a huge horror movie buff I thought I would give this movie a try, even though I knew it probably would not be my taste. Now that I have seen it I can still say that these kinds of movies are not my favorite, however I am genuinely surprised at how great this movie was. It is well animated, even though you can tell that the budget was limited, and the characters were fun and unique on their own. The humor was decent and even though it was aimed at kids there were a few jokes that also worked for adults, especially fans of horror movies or movies in general. The premise itself sounds awesome and definitely features some great horror elements, however they were implemented in a way that is not too scary for a younger audience even though this movie includes elements of body horror, zombies and giant mutants. The fact that they managed to make a PG rated animated movie from a story that is based on Clive Barker is impressive and the way they handled certain themes was overall pretty good. This movie is a perfect watch for a younger audience to introduce them to the horror genre and especially the subgenres of zombies and body horror. It is not my personal favorite taste, therefore my rating is not as high as it probably should be, but I can definitely say that this movie surprised me in a good way. [6,1/10]

Show me a lazy studio

Would have given zero This film irritated me from the first trailer and pictures.I mean how lazy do a studio have to be to not research animals.I know Capybara are popular but a simple Google or watch FLOW would have told you CAPYBARAS DON'T HAVE TAILS!Surly you must have seen Capybara or known they're popular to get the front correct.Just angers me What's next a kangaroo with no tail? ?
