So, this is where the "Goodness had nuthin' to do with it, Dearie!" line came from! George Raft is devilishly handsome, Miss Cummings is fetching, and Mae West is, of course, outrageous. Then there's them other mugs! Not awful for a pre-code talkie; its brevity works in its favor. Honorable mention to the always versatile Louis Calhern.

A typical early thirties shambles of a script

A typical early thirties shambles of a script and story only livened up by Mae West's too brief appearances. Until It Happened Once Night in 1934, no one knew how to write an even half way interesting script. West livens up every scene she is in. George Raft delivers his typical wooden tough guy schtick. There is a shoot out at the end. Wished they'd taken out all the main characters (save Mae). Nice appearances of a great supporting cast (Louis Calhern and Roscoe Karns included).
