Plot summary

Scatterbrained Betty Barrett mistakes masseur Jack Spratt for Jose O'Rourke, the captain of the South American polo team. Spratt goes along with the charade, but the situation becomes more complicated when they fall in love. Meanwhile, Betty's sensible older sister Eve fears Betty's heart will be broken when Jose returns to South America. She arranges to meet with the real O'Rourke and love soon blossoms between them as well.

Tried watching this but it's cringeworthy. Red Skelton may have been a cut-up for Forties and Fifties audiences, but he was basically Jerry Lewis before Jerry Lewis. Maybe the French will like this.

Neptune's Daughter is an okay film. It is

Neptune's Daughter is an okay film. It is about a swimsuit fashion designer who is determined to protect her scatterbrained sister from a South American heart-breaker. Esther Williams and Ricardo Montalban give decent performances. The screenplay is a little slow in places. Edward Buzzell did an alright job directing this movie. I liked this motion picture because of the humor and romance.

An enjoyable romp. You can definitely see where the Coens have gleamed a little bit of their humor from with the humor of miscommunications and etc.
