Neon Days - Film Review

Neon Days is a drama film written and directed by Sheldon Maddux. The film follows Jake Newton (portrayed by Justin Duncan) as he deals with depression and begins to see a therapist, Sean Gamsy (portrayed by Eric Hanson), to help deal with his emotions.The important supporting actors are: Luke (portrayed by Glenn Morshower) as a friend of Sean's and Sherry (portrayed by Meagan Harris) as Jake's crush.The is a bit of a coming-of-age film where Jake is trying to find himself as he deals with trauma from his childhood that makes him cautious of rejection. I like Jake's character, but he is a bit awkward. I think Sean is my favorite character as he really cares for Jake and wants to try to help him.The acting in the film isn't bad despite the low budget. The reason I rated the film as low as I did is I think the overall plot is a bit boring and sometimes confusing. Maybe I am wrong but it seemed to jump around in time periods. I personally don't like when films do that because it confuses the timeline.Overall, this is an ok low-budget drama film that follows how a young man deals with depression, crushes, and growing up. - 3/10.

Great movie. Entertaining. Well thought out. It makes you really think. You definitely need take the time to watch movie.
