Plot summary

Martin's daughter, Emma, takes up a night watch job to find out what happened to her parents almost thirty years ago. A meeting with Wörmer in his cell pulls the serial killer out of his coma and sets in motion a chain of fateful events.

It's rare to see such a half-baked movie

It's rare to see such a half-baked movie that makes you want to leave halfway through. Half the scenes don't contribute to the plot and although the name, it does not have anything to do with demons. Everything they do feels forced to have something to do with the plot and does not have a good dramatic effect. Would really not recommend

Almost 30 years later director Ole Bornedal decided

Almost 30 years later director Ole Bornedal decided to revisit his cult classic "Nattevagten" putting Martin's daughter (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) Emma (Fanny Leander Bornedal) in the centre and in many ways repeating the original storyline. It's a modernization of the story for good and bad and the film carries a somewhat arranged structure with the past coming back to haunt both Martin, Jens and Emma. The film doesn't really add anything new in this genre and it's also based on many sorts of clichés, but from a film quality perspective it's better than the original that felt a bit more amateurish. I was mostly impressed by the lovely Fanny Leander Bornedal. She is the highlight of the film.
