Plot summary

Michael Hutchence was flying high as the lead singer of the legendary rock band INXS until his untimely death in 1997. Richard Lowenstein’s documentary examines Hutchence’s deeply felt life through his many loves and demons.

Because of the type of person Hutchence was

Because of the type of person Hutchence was, as soon as we first see him in the film you are instantly connected to the film - those big eyes that just make you feel warm, safe, and happy. Whatever the emotion you feel, it’s clear that his charm and impact on people will not wane. That’s why in 2019, a documentary about him still is a cause for interest - he's an icon who's still adored by millions. Even though the documentary isn’t perfect, I still highly recommend seeing it, whether to hear those songs again, remember the legend, or even to learn something new. Interesting, But Truth Seems Frustratingly Out Of Reach

A film that doesn't quite provide the insight into its subject that it would like to, and one which has little use for the music other than as a soundtrack. Despite all the interviews with - it feels like - just about everybody around him, the real depths of his personality and his art seem frustratingly out of reach.
