Plot summary

Kyla is a skilled genealogy researcher who’s made a thriving business of putting together family trees. When she comes across new information regarding her mother’s mysterious extended family, she and her sister travel to the charming town of Conifer, hoping to piece together their ancestry. The search leads Kyla to a generations-old Christmas tree farm, its stubborn but handsome owner… and, possibly, love.

On the surface, it’s a sweet story and

On the surface, it’s a sweet story and wants me to visit a Christmas-y town at Christmas time. Spoilers.. However, serious plot issues… 1) What was the purpose of the cancelled Mexico trip?? They must be loaded to just be able to casually cancel a whole vacation at the last minute the same week as Christmas. They never even mention it again 2) The librarian is totally the bad guy. She literally had all the answers the whole time, like decades before Kyla shows up … and just picks and chooses what and when to reveal stuff. 3) What was up with the sister and the baker?? I felt like it was part 1 in a romcom series and the next one will be the same movie but from the baker and the sister’s perspective … only that’s probably not happening.

Actually had substance!

This was pretty darn good I was surprised and happy! My husband sat through the whole movie with me which he rarely does and he mentioned that this movie actually had substance! Loved the mystery plot. Loved that there was more than one story line acting was very good. One of the best Christmas movies I've seen this year. I rated it seven out of 10. Beautiful scenery and I loved the gorgeous cabins and furniture craftsmanship. It is rare that I ever watch any of these movies more than once but I look forward to seeing this one again. The relationship between the male lead and the female lead was believable.
