_**O, what a tangled web we weave on

_**O, what a tangled web we weave on Cape Cod**_ In a town at the tip of Cape Cod, a struggling fisherman (Josh Walther) has to take a job as a shellfish warden. Despite having a wife & kids, he enters into an affair with a beautiful writer who lives on the shore (Jade Harlow). Tim Misuradze plays a neighbor of the writer while Chris Lazzaro is on hand as a dubious friend of the protagonist (Walther). "Murder on the Cape" (2017) is a very low-budget crime drama by Arthur & Heather Egeli loosely based on the real-life 2002 murder of Christa Worthington, a 46-year-old fashion writer, in Truro, Massachusetts, near the tip of Cape Cod. The strengths of the movie are the ravishing Jade Harlow, the masculine protagonist reminiscent of Jason Momoa (Walther), the nice Cape Cod scenery and the compelling story. The weaknesses are a script that needed the kinks worked out and some presumably local actors who act like they learned their lines 15 minutes before shooting. If you like crime dramas based on real-life events the movie’s worth checking out as long as you can handle very low-budget Indies; then compare it with the real-life events. I was able to acclimate and enjoy the movie despite its shortcomings. The numerous reviewers who rate it 1/10 are obviously not used to seeing limited-budget productions. While the flick certainly has its issues (corresponding to its lack of finances), this is not a 1/10 production. The film runs 1 hour, 35 minutes, and was shot in Provincetown, Massachusetts. GRADE: C/C- (4.5/10)

WATCH SOMETHING ELSE....ANYTHING. Seriously.

Hey Crab Man. Hey Earl. These two sentences have more plot and are more exciting than anything you will see in this movie. Were it not for the fact that this is based on a true story and someone was actually killed it would be funny. The camera work was done by someone who seems to think that every shot must fill the frame with a face so close to the camera that you can actually smell the mediocrity. In one shot the director seems to have gone out of his way to fill whatever space was left around the actors bulbous face with a plain white background. You can imagine him shouting "A little more to the left! It doesnt work unless there is absolutely NOTHING behind him!" This does nothing to distract from riveting dialogue such as when the female victim tells her love interest "I want to see you again" to which he replies, "Alright" and leaves.

The best part of the whole movie was the drug peddling townie loser, who I hope to God was actually baked out of his mind to have spent this much energy on this piece of crap and that he no longer remembers making it.

I rated this two stars only because for the first 15 minutes I couldn't stop laughing at the poor production value of this made as a high school project movie. The other 75 minutes were like a prostate exam only without the feeling that you did something good for yourself when it was over.
