Plot summary

Mr. Dean's body is found face down in the fireplace, burned beyond recognition. Nightclub-singer Eden Lane is convicted of the crime. She is escorted to prison by one of the arresting detectives when she convinces him that she just spotted the murderer outside their train.

More hokey melodrama than film noir. Rife with implausible coincidences that only magnify the absurd premise. I give it two stars, one for each of the 1950's push-up bras worn by the leading lady and the femme fatale. Man, you could put an eye out with one of those!
