Rickshaw Man (The Life of Wild Matsu), also

Rickshaw Man (The Life of Wild Matsu), also released as Muhomatsu, the Rickshaw Man or The Rikisha-Man, is a 1958 color Japanese film. It is a remake of the directors own 1943 film. It tells the story of Matsugoro, a rickshaw man, who becomes a surrogate father to the child of a recently widowed woman. It was directed by Hiroshi Inagaki. It was written by Hiroshi and Mansaku Itami and Shunsaku Iwashita. It was produced by Tomoyuki Tanaka. It stars Toshiro Mifune and Hideko Takamine. Vision praised the film's blend of comedy, realism, sentimentalism, as well as experimental elements like camera pans and fireworks. Matsugoro was an idealized model of manhood despite his intense masculinity. A good role model for the time. Four fries for direction, performances, production and story. Some people think of it as a mashed potato; a bad remake, but I would reinstate it as a Julienne; a classic potato. A golden potato! In Japan, most likely a Daigaku-imo.

WOW!

Oh WOW! this film is slipping out off the radar, played by the great Toshiro Mifune, it's a tragedy of a great man named Muhomatsu, a Rickshaw Man. if you're looking for a great classic tear-jerker japanese drama then this is definitely a must to see!
