Our kids mean the world to us, but

Our kids mean the world to us, but what happens when we find out they’re marrying the children of our exes? That’s the premise of this movie, where Lana discovers that her daughter is marrying her ex’s son. Directed by Mark Waters, the movie stars Benjamin Bratt, Miranda Cosgrove, and Chad Michael Murray. Just ok

Rachael Harris and Wilson Cruz were missed opportunities for a much better movie. Miranda Cosgrove's influencer job needed more backstory and her acting needed some help. I wasn't so much a fan of Teale, I didn't find much charisma from him on screen, and the chemistry with him and Cosgrove was dull. Same with Brooke Shields and Benjamin Bratt. The plot was a story that's been told before with nothing that sets it apart. The tropical background did all the heavy lifting, and again, Harris and Cruz were the standouts (as they usually are in their projects).I'm really glad to see Brooke Shields back on screen, but this movie was filler. Her other Netflix film, A Castle for Christmas, was delightful but Mother of the Bride has very little in terms of plot, just a really good tropical locale.

What were people expecting?

Many reviewers complain that this movie was silly and not as good as others of the genre.

While I do agree, that Netflix is not exactly guaranteed awesomeness all the time.. what were you expecting? When you open a can of ravioli, are you then sad it didn't taste like a gourmet meal? Check your expectations.

I knew what I was gonna get, when I started watching this movie. It was your standard rom-com, with little to remember it by ten years from now. Just some movie that I once watched. But guess what? It entertained me, while I was watching it. And Brooke Shields was playing a cute character.

So just know, that it is not going to be Love Actually and you'll be fine.
