Plot summary

Heather is a New York City girl and a best-selling author on a mission to conquer writer’s block and avoid paying back an advance on her next book. Her plans take a sudden swerve when she inherits a family ranch in Montana. With her two best friends, Heather heads out for a “Yellowstone” adventure intent on a quick sale but is blindsided by both the ranch’s dilapidated condition and by Cliff, the charming cowboy veterinarian next door who challenges her big-city ideals. Heather and her friends find more than they bargained for in this big sky adventure.

I like that the movie didn’t only focus

I like that the movie didn’t only focus on the main female character. That we also see a little bit of the friends life and character development. The friends are not there only for the plot. They also have personality and are likeable. Yes the storyline is simple and predictable. I love how is relatable. I love how the male love interest is portrayed but I would have love to see more of his backstory to make me more invested in their love story. It is a comforting movie to watch and evade of our own personal problem.

Finally a modern rom com - characters were

Finally a modern rom com - characters were engaging/fun, actors were well chosen, and we saw romance/attraction before the last three seconds of movie (tired of Hallmark). For a romance novel type movie it deserves 5 stars.

Would've been good but.....

Story was hallmarkish with a little more kissing. Had to harp on a lesbian relationship that had no bearing on the main story whatsover. Seems like nowadays it's mandatory to add that to try and mainstream that lifestyle. It isn't. Other than that the acting was good and overall story was familiar but cute.
