Amazing yet truly disturbing and sad movie about the disappearance of Charles Hofman, and American journalist caught in the middle of Chile's violent government overthrow of democratically elected president Salvador Allende. For many years the U.S. government denied any involvement, but throughout the 70s they were paranoid about which Latin American country could become the next communist Cuba. To avoid this, the U.S. basically fostered right wing dictators in other to suppress any communist uprisings, yet they failed to see that they were overthrowing a legitimate president (with some leftist views). The U.S. government were pulling all the stops to remain silent but Charles Norman saw too much in Viña Del Mar, a fact that would cost him his life.

The US supported the dictator Pinochet, and probably was involved in Allende's death as well.

No wonder the US Army and Navy are so busy and obsessed with CRT, right?
