Plot summary

Miss You, Love You snuck up on me

Miss You, Love You snuck up on me. I sat down expecting a drama and got a gut punch wrapped in dark humor — a story about grief, estrangement, and the strangers who sometimes see us more clearly than family ever could. I won't spoil a thing; this one is best experienced knowing as little as possible. What I will tell you is what it did to me: when the credits rolled, I dried my eyes, picked up my phone, and called my mother. Then I got in the car and drove to see her. Whether that was guilt, love, or some cocktail of both is between me and my therapist — but a movie that moves you off the couch to go hold someone you love is doing something very right. Allison Janney is a force of nature — blunt, bruised, achingly human — and Andrew Rannells more than holds his own. One gripe: there is a son in this film, and the audacity of that fictional human nearly broke me. If you've seen it, you know. 4 out of 5 stars. The missing point goes entirely to that son. He knows what he did.

I was enthralled with this movie! I have

I was enthralled with this movie! I have to watch it again to better understand its depth of emotions and relationships. (I shed a few tears) So well done and for me, an unexpected, yet satisfying ending! Oh, and wonderful performances from Allison Janney and Andrew Rannells. This would make a good play for the stage.
