Plot summary

The film certainly has its moments, but not

The film certainly has its moments, but not enough to sustain it. It's pretty obvious from the outset that Miranda is a troubled sort, and the juxtaposition of the simple, straight forward Frank is a nice foil that develops well. At least we're spared excessive bitterness of the abandoned child syndrom, which is a plus. The most interesting character is MacLachlan's Nailor. His initial scene with Miranda is high in quirky humor, but it's short lived. Overall, well-acted, but the story lags at time and the characters are not interesting enough nor developed enough for the viewer to care beyond surface concern. Good but not great.

I love Ricci in this sort of thing but the script isn't much.
