Plot summary

Grace Pine, a 24-year-old music critic, moves to Montreal to write a book on Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill, but her plans are complicated when she becomes romantically involved with two members of an indie band she is covering and decides to become their publicist.

I thought it was an ok movie but

I thought it was an ok movie but then they had to go and end it with Oral Herpes. This movie (Literally) ends with the main character making out with someone who has Oral Herpes. He even warned her that he has this STD and that she would get it. The make out session is long too. And they really focus in on the herpes lip. This might sound like I'm trolling but I'm completely serious.

While I would easily watch a hundred more

While I would easily watch a hundred more aggressively Canadian movies written or produced by Matt Johnson, Mile End Kicks didn’t quite land for me. With some better music and character development, I could’ve seen myself really enjoying this one, but it was still worth seeing, if just for the triumphant return of my Rodrick, Devon Bostick.

Pretty terrible to be honest. film-work and production

pretty terrible to be honest. film-work and production was fine, but the meat of the story was indigestible. seemed like a poor attempt at signalling and trying to convey a deeper message but felt shallow and fell flat. grace was extremely unlikeable and decisions felt unrealistic. her redemption arc was rushed and didn’t fit the character as we knew up to that point.
