Absolute hidden gem. The two main characters are

Absolute hidden gem. The two main characters are from seemingly opposite socioeconomic backgrounds, and struggling with separate family issues. Yet, they find themselves learning the same lessons - like the realization that the thing that you thought you wanted so badly may end up disappointing you. For Grace, it was her relationship with Ben; for Dorian, it was his reunification with his birth mother. Through their struggle, Dorian and Grace find themselves caring about one another's well-being to the point of personal sacrifice, the truest definition of friendship. Sure, on paper the plot is cheesy, but notice that there is actually very little drug use on screen. This movie isn't about weed, it's about young people navigating a scary new world with no close allies except each other. Indie filmmaking at its finest. Also, rest in peace Anton Yelchin.

This romantic comedy may be entertaining but it blends so well with the other American so called indie flicks of its time that it seems forgettable and severely lacking in originality.
