Strange in many ways. If hedonism interests you

Strange in many ways. If hedonism interests you, this might float your boat. Lazy writing, some moments of clarity but all considered, a bit dull. Interesting in the manner it shows the fleeting existence of "pleasure" and the fact that chasing it constantly, never actually works, it destroys. So, there's that. Cast not very convincing in character. Cinematography is good and visually acceptable.

Rather dull and monotonous, Menorca is a character

Rather dull and monotonous, Menorca is a character drama about a woman going through a midlife crisis. The story follows a soccer mom named Claire who abandons her family and takes up a hedonistic life as a waitress at a strip club. Claire is kind of an interesting character and even somewhat sympathetic; trapped in a life she didn't want and feeling disconnected from people. And Tammy Gillis gives a fairly strong performance. But the plot doesn't really go anywhere and Claire doesn't really change or have any transformative revelation. Despite a promising start, Menorca ends up being pretty pointless.
