Plot summary

Had enough of Christmas films? How about Hannukah

Had enough of Christmas films? How about Hannukah movies? Menorah In The Middle is a hoot! A bit schmaltzy, but definitely a feelgood movie. I enjoyed all the cast, even though Danny Devito's daughter was probably a good ten years too old for her role, and the guest appearances from Sarah Silverman seemed more like her playing herself, rather than an acting performance. The film embodies core Jewish family values of kindness, hospitality, and generosity. There's also a minstrel who pops up from time to time to narrate. Unchallenging, but fun.
