Plot summary

Dae-guk, a nosy man from Apgujeong, and Ji-woo, a cold but skillful plastic surgeon, open a plastic surgery business in Gangnam. Dae-guk is an unemployed man who likes to pry into other people’s businesses.

KEEP YOUR EYES ON THESE TWO...!

A 2022 South Korean comedy vehicle starring Mr. Haymaker himself, Don Lee. Lee is a hustler through & through so when he hears about a down on his luck plastic surgeon, Jung Kyung Ho, from Netflix' Crash Course in Romance, who has lost his license but is essentially working under the table for another surgeon, Lee decides to flex his scam muscles to get him back on his feet which involves a lot of shady deals involving shady people in his orbit which seems to get him back on track as his business takes off & a Chinese backer takes in an interest in him. But being both parties are like starved eaters at an all you can eat buffet, their avarice & greed knows no bounds which leads to backstabbing, front stabbing & other kinds of stabbing you could only imagine. Fun throughout w/Lee, decked out in outfits which would give golfers pause, steals every scene he's in while Ho is exasperation incarnate.

Fun And Entertaining

An entertaining film depicting what men can do for fame and money. I like how they portray Dae Gu because it's so relatable, there are many people like Dae Gu in real life. While his friendship with Ji-Woo is brilliantly delivered and stayed despite their conflict and confusions.This film should dig more on the plastic surgery hype in Seoul. There's hardly any plastic surgery scenes in this film. They focus on the two main characters.

Not as good as it could have been

The plastic surgery craze it fascinating subject matter. Unfortunately this movie doesn't cover it well. This story focuses on the business dealings which is often dry. It could have been funny showing all the results of plastic surgery. You do get a feel of the underhanded business practices like ghost doctors and cheap fillers. But it isn't involving.

Lots of familiar faces. Ma Dong Seok carries the movie with his charm and you are on his side. But the other characters aren't well developed or likeable. Jung Kyung Ho's character the doctor is selfish and irritating. The ending didn't show what happened to Oh Yeon Seo and Oh Na Ra's characters.

Don't bother with this missed opportunity.
