The story is quite simple, predictable, and a rotten template - nothing new & engaging.
The performance by Ravi Teja is energetic. Naveen Chandra did well for their role, and the rest of the cast is okay.
Music composer Bheems Ceciroleo's songs are disappointing except for 1-2 songs, and the movie has 2-3 repeated mass bgm works for a few scenes, and a few scenes' scores feel like they are not synced.
Mass Jathara is a mass movie, & even action sequences are not engaged.
Krack movie has vetapelam action sequences, the same kind of template action as in the movie.
Production values are okay, because the majority of the movie is in the set, and you will clearly see it is a set piece.
The movie doesn't have a good connection; when the hero cuts off the villain's head, I didn't get any high.
Ravi Teja & Sreeleela's accent is also not good.
Comedy scenes are also not worked.
I didn't have any expectations for the movie, and the movie exactly did it excellently.
Waiting for the Ravi Teja comeback.

Since 2020, Raviteja has starred in nine films in the role before Mass Jathara, and out of the nine films, only two (i.e., Krack and Dhamaka) were successful. To break the flop streak, he teamed up with the usually reliable production house, Sithara Entertainments. Bhanu Bogavarapu, who provided the story for the super successful film, Samajavaragamana, was roped in to direct the movie. After the super successful, Dhamaka, Sreeleela and the music director, Bheems Ceciroleo, together teamed up with Raviteja. When the film was announced, the combination looked solid and raised expectations.
After postponing the release date multiple times for various reasons, the makers of the film finally released it in theatres today. Did Raviteja finally manage to score a hit after delivering four back-to-back flop films? Did the combination of Raviteja, Sreeleela and Bheems Ceciroleo, work out yet again after, Dhamaka? Was the debutant director, Bhanu Bogavarapu, able to deliver an entertaining mass commercial film? After being in the news for all the wrong reasons in August and September, did the producer, Naga Vamsi, bounce back with a hit film? Let’s figure it out with a detailed analysis. Lakshman Bheri(Ravi Teja), an honest and sincere railway police officer from Telangana, gets a transfer to Adavi Varam, an agency area in Srikakulam district. Right after stepping into the village, he observes multiple wrongdoings. He reports the wrongdoings to the respective police and forest department heads in the village but they ridicule him and ask him to mind his own business.
Shivudu(Naveen Chandra), a druglord in the town, make the people in the village cultivate marijuana, he then buys it from the people and smuggles it from Adavi Varam to Kolkata. How did Lakshman Bheri destroy the business of Shivudu? Why did Sreeleela and her father become marijuana peddlers? Why exactly was Lakaham Bheri transferred to Adavi Varam? Forms the rest of the story. Performances:
We can see Raviteja’s usual energy at many places but it is high time for him to realise that he is not the Raviteja of ‘Idiot’, ‘Bhadra’ and ‘Venky’ anymore. His mannerisms used to be good in the aforementioned movies and multiple other movies but not anymore. Especially, the romantic track between him and Sreeleela looked very odd. Mass Jathara has many notable actors and it is one of those rare films where almost all actors delivered below-par and over-the-top performances. Positives:
1. Cinematography
2. A Well-Choreographed Action Sequence
Negatives:
1. Substandard Direction
2. Loud Music
3. Outdated Writing
4. Weak Villain Characterisation
5. Below Par Performances
Analysis:
On 26th January 2025, the makers of the film released a sixty-second short glimpse video. Almost every visual in that video was a reference to Raviteja’s trademark mannerisms from his earlier films and the only dialogue from the glimpse video was a famous one-liner by Raviteja from the movie ‘Idiot’. Just by looking at the short glimpse video and the ‘Manadhe Idantha’ tag line for the title ‘Mass Jathara’, we can understand that the director of the film has no intention to try anything new and all he wanted to do is to use Raviteja’s energy and come up with a commercial entertainer.
There’s nothing wrong with making a routine commercial entertainer. The audience will always watch a well-packaged commercial film without complaints. However, when the packaging is not done right, these commercial entertainer films are tedious to sit through. Sadly, for Mass Jathara, the packaging went terribly wrong.
The debutant director, Bhanu Bogavarapu, seems to have blindly believed that Raviteja’s last unanimous blockbuster, Krack, worked out because of the slick visuals. Krack worked out because of the right doses of action, comedy, emotion, very good hero characterisation and an equally good antagonist characterisation. The cinematography just enhanced the overall output of ‘Krack’ but it is not the only factor for its success. But in Mass Jathara, the director failed to come up with a gripping screenplay and also failed to come up with a strong characterisation for the protagonist role. At no point does the protagonist pose a serious challenge to the hero. Right from the start to the end, there was not even a single emotional sequence that worked.
There were only two emotional sequences(i.e. one is Sreeleela’s family’s backstory and the pre-climax sequence on Rajendra Prasad) and both the sequences were written and executed poorly. The justifications given during both sequences were laughable and silly. Almost every sequence in the film clearly shows the director’s inability to come up with fresh ideas.
We get to see at least a dozen earlier Raviteja’s film references and mannerisms throughout the film. Why do audiences have to visit a theatre to watch a film that looks like a mashup of the hero’s earlier films? And, the dialogues written by Nandu Savirigana, throughout the film were substandard. It appeared as if the dialogue writer inspired by Telugu film fandom wars on X(Twitter) and wrote the dialogues for the film.
Again, why do audiences have to pay and watch a movie in a theatre which has dialogues that are inspired by the X(Twitter) pop culture? It is shocking to see a young director and writer, coming up with such poor ideas. And, on top of the poor writing and direction, the film suffered from an extremely loud background score. In fact, ‘loud’ is an understatement to describe the background score of the film. You should consider yourself extremely lucky if you come out of the theatre without getting a headache because of the background score.
Overall, Mass Jathara is a below-par film that failed miserably in almost all departments, except the cinematography. It is not a film one would expect from a young director. It is shocking to see a debudant director coming up with a film that suffers from, lack of fresh ideas and imagination. The wait for a successful film for Raviteja continues.
Bottomline: 'Misfired Jathara'.
Verdict: Disaster.
Bottomline – ‘Misfired’ Jathara.
Verdict : Disaster.

Mass Jathara (2025) :
Movie Review -Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja returns in full throttle! Mass Jathara is exactly the kind of film his fans crave - unapologetically loud, swagger-filled, and brimming with adrenaline. Ravi Teja carries the larger-than-life image of a mass hero with ease, and this film gives him the perfect stage to unleash it once again. While the movie is far from flawless, it never disappoints in delivering what it promises - pure, high-voltage entertainment. As RPF officer Laxman, Ravi Teja storms the screen with an energy that's simply electrifying. Debutant director Bhanu Bogavarapu dives headfirst into the mass genre, and though his storytelling could use some refinement, his confidence and control over the chaos make Mass Jathara a rollercoaster of masala moments. Logic takes a back seat, but the madness is so engaging that it's easy to overlook the flaws. The story follows Laxman, a tough and righteous railway police officer who believes in his own rules. His entry scene is an absolute riot - when he beats up a minister's son, he delivers the fiery dialogue, "You are State, I'm Central," setting the tone for what's to come. That one line defines the spirit of the film: loud, clever, and crowd-pleasing. After the incident, Laxman is transferred to a rural area dominated by the notorious Shivadu (Naveen Chandra), who has turned the village into a hub for drug smuggling. Shivadu and his five deadly relatives rule the region with fear and brutality. When an honest sub-inspector is killed for supporting Laxman, our hero decides enough is enough. He vows to dismantle Shivadu's empire piece by piece, starting by seizing a stash of drugs. This act sets off a chain of violent confrontations and mindless mayhem that lead to an inevitable face-off between Laxman and Shivadu. The plot may be predictable, but it's executed with enough punch to keep audiences hooked. The screenplay moves at a brisk pace, rarely giving you time to breathe. However, it occasionally abandons logic for convenience. One moment, Laxman mourns a brutal killing, and the next, he's flirting with a girl as if nothing happened. His romance with the female lead (Sreeleela) feels forced, and the fact that she's tied to the smuggling racket doesn't seem to bother him much. These inconsistencies weaken the emotional impact, and the film often swings between tones - serious one moment, comedic the next. The climax, set against the backdrop of a grand jathara (festival), feels slightly stretched and overblown. The death of a grandfatherly figure is inserted for sentiment but ends up cliched rather than touching. On the technical side, the film's humour is hit or miss. Some scenes fall flat, while others - especially those involving Ajay Ghosh and Hyper Aadi - land well with the audience. The positives, however, outweigh the negatives. The action sequences are the film's beating heart. They are choreographed with infectious energy and treated like grand celebrations. Every confrontation scene involving Ravi Teja and Naveen Chandra oozes style and attitude. The background score amplifies this energy, though it occasionally crosses the line into excessive loudness. Still, it's hard not to get swept away by the sheer swagger. The final showdown during the jathara festival is pure visual chaos in the best way possible. The sequence resembles a scaled-down version of Pushpa 2's world - complete with rugged visuals, crimson lighting, and crowd mayhem. In fact, one of the same background actors from Pushpa 2 appears here too, making the similarity even more striking. Despite the resemblance, Bhanu Bogavarapu manages to keep it engaging through tight camera work and rousing background music. The stunts involving Laxman taking on Shivadu's relatives one by one are exhilarating and truly worthy of the "mass" label.Ravi Teja's performance is the soul of Mass Jathara. He is in his comfort zone, exuding that signature mix of intensity and charm that has defined his career. His slow-motion struts, moustache twirls, and punch dialogues are tailor-made for fans. There's a sense of playfulness in how he approaches the role, making even the most over-the-top moments entertaining. It's the kind of performance only he can pull off without making it look forced. Sreeleela looks stunning on screen, but her performance is strictly average - she's more of a visual prop than a narrative necessity. Naveen Chandra, on the other hand, impresses as the villain. He's menacing without being cartoonish and provides a worthy opponent to Ravi Teja's heroics. Ajay Ghosh delivers a hilarious turn in the Coolie parody sequence, and Tarak Ponnappa - who made an impression in Pushpa 2 - once again leaves a mark in a brief role. Supporting actors like Naresh, Rajendra Prasad, and Navya Swamy do justice to their limited parts. If there's one major drawback, it's the music. The soundtrack fails to live up to the energy of the visuals. Every song feels mistimed, abruptly inserted, and disrupts the film's rhythm. The beats are generic, and none of the tunes stay with you once the credits roll. Thankfully, the background score compensates to some extent. The cinematography captures the rustic setting well, with vibrant festival colours and gritty action frames. However, certain shots look a bit cheap, giving the film a B-grade vibe in parts. A tighter edit and better sound design could have elevated the overall experience. Some of the violence has been censored with blurring effects, which dilutes the intensity of otherwise powerful moments.Director Bhanu Bogavarapu, despite being a debutant, shows promise. He understands the pulse of the mass audience and knows exactly what buttons to press. His command over high-energy sequences and ability to build heroism around Ravi Teja's persona make this film click. Yes, the logic is missing, and the story is conventional, but the direction ensures the audience remains entertained. The film doesn't pretend to be smart cinema - it proudly wears its commercial heart on its sleeve. In the end, Mass Jathara is what its title promises - a carnival of mass action. It's loud, over-the-top, occasionally cringe-worthy, but always entertaining. This isn't a film you watch for storytelling finesse; it's one you experience for the sheer thrill of Ravi Teja's explosive screen presence. Despite its flaws, the film succeeds in what it sets out to do - deliver a full-blown masala entertainer that makes fans whistle, cheer, and clap. With more polish, Bhanu Bogavarapu could emerge as one of the next big names in the mass genre. For now, Mass Jathara is a crowd-pleasing celebration of Ravi Teja's mass charisma - less brain, more brawn, and a whole lot of fun.RATING - 5/10*
