Plot summary

Since childhood, Matthew kept a dark secret: he's possessed by a demon. Now grown, serving in the United States Marine Corps, he's learned to tame the demon through self-mutilation. That cure soon ends as two recruits, who are members of the occult, cast a spell on him to manifest Matthew's worst fears. As his life slips away, the demon fully overcomes him and Matthew goes on a killing spree.

An average horror flick about some demon-possessed army

An average horror flick about some demon-possessed army officer that falls below average thanks to a lot of needless filler. The film would've been more watchable and better-paced if the duration were shortened to 1 hour. If it were a shorter film it would warrant a 2.5, or even 3, star rating -- has just enough going for it by way of cinematography, set etc. As it stands, it is 1.5 hours long and that's just too long for such mediocrity.

Nothing Really Makes Sense

The movie is basically a boy gets possessed as a kid by his mother and her coven's Satanic ritual. For some reason - which is never explained - when the boy grows up, as an army sergeant(?) he keeps the demon at bay through self-flagellation. There's a scene where he is accused of inappropriate behavior against one of his female cadets which is never explained or explored. The entire movie is overacted, boring, poor storytelling. Watch it only if you have literally nothing else to do.
