The obvious Argento influence shouldn't be overlooked here. It's like the director saw Suspiria and said "I've got an idea!" The film is amazing when you're chemically enhanced.

Bad movie, but the performance of Nicolas Cage is the only good thing

This is a very good movie. Its one of Nicolas Cage's best performances if not his best performance. Its about this couple who happily live in the woods and they have an unfortunate encounter with a cult. The leader becomes enamored with the girlfriend (Andrea Riseborough) so they kidnap her. He tries seducing her but she just laughs at him because hes so ridiculous. He becomes enraged at her rejection so he orders his followers to burn her alive. The boyfriend Red (Nicolas Cage) is forced to watch the only person he cares about being burned alive. They leave him to die but he survives and then he hunts them all down and murders them. I highly recommend this movie.

One of the best movies of this year. Funny how people call this movie crap when it has higher ratings than blockbusters like Interstellar at rotten tomatoes and metacritic. It's not even close. Oh well, it's either your cup of tea or not. One thing I could say though is that this is not your traditional horror movie.

Not a movie for everyone, but I loved it.

bad movie as bad as can be and not funny bad either. Just a wayward hope that Nick Cage can pull it together and make something worth watchin.....aw the hell with it. Bartender! Turn that off and beer me!
