Plot summary

Man in Camo takes a close look at the life of visual artist, writer and filmmaker Ethan Minsker and his drive to create and crusade the making of art. Through the lens of old photographs and films, Minsker leads viewers on a journey through the hurdles that once held him back, from dyslexia to the violence of 1980s Washington D.C. It was these hurdles that forged his love of film and art, and his work now spans across three decades. Man In Camo brings forth not just the love of art, but the reasons for making it in the first place.

Man in camo is an inspiring documentary about

Man in camo is an inspiring documentary about both Ethen and artists as whole. I finished the movie feeling really inspired to keep making art and to make cool art for the sake of making cool art, however i did feel that the movie was a little bit too long and that towards the end of the movie i was starting to lose focus and slightly drift away. Overall i would highly recommend this movie for every single artist or art loving person for it is a highly insightful journey through the mind of a great artist.

Fantastic documentary. The subject of the movie is

Fantastic documentary. The subject of the movie is the movie maker himself, a proposition that can easily veer into the land of self-indulgence. But Ethan Minsker, whether by design or accident, instead offers a portrait of the Gen X artist and mindset that many, myself included, understand on a profound level. The result is a fair, honest portrait of an often overlooked generation, the world we were raised in, the way we dealt with that world, etc. Minsker is a talented filmmaker. He deserves more recognition for his work, and like many Gen Xers, he's committed to a DIY philosophy that cancels out the dragons at the gates of popular culture who would prefer the independent spirit of our generation die quietly so that the conformist generations that came before and followed Gen X can wallow in their common, boring, mediocre standards.
