For a first film outing for the very small studio I was very impressed. There were moments you could tell the budget wasn't up to par such as the ogres that were just humans with big teeth put in and partial face coverings, or the caber which was super plastic looking...on the other hand the witch's magic effects were awesome. She turns into smoke at one point and you think you're watching a big budget film. Aside from the look of it, I loved the feel of it. It very much brought me back to being a child in the 80's. It was cute and fun and never too scary for for kids. I admit I watched this only because Tami Stronach was in it and as I mentioned I'm a child of the 80's, 1980 to be specific. Tami is 8 years older than me, but as a little boy watching Neverending Story she was pure magic. Of course, the whole movie was, and all the actors were amazing, but there was really something oddly unique about her portrayal of the empress and I was thrilled to see her acting again even if it took half a lifetime to get her back in front of a camera. She was still just as captivating and I'd love to see her continue. The world needs more fantasy and Tami has it down. Initially I thought Greg Steinbruner was blatantly old for the part he was playing, but then I looked it up and found out he and Tami are married. So that is the obvious reason for them getting the leads in the film. When you write and produce the film yourself you get to be the lead if you want. That said he did a really good job. In particular there is a short speech he gives when he first meet the witch about why he wants a wife and it got me teared up pretty quick. I hope they did well enough to financially to make another film, but absolutely none of the data on that is available online, so we'll just have to wait and see. If you are an 80's child like me and want to briefly step back in time with a little magic, some good and some cheesy effects, a few muppetty animals, quality acting, and a whole lot of heart then give this a watch.

I really wanted to like this movie...but like everything in Holly-weird...they just want to continue to wreck movies by pushing woke agendas. This could have been a great family movie but they took a good movie and destroyed it in the last 10 minutes. I would have recommended this movie to several friends...but now I will tell them to avoid it.

I've seen the film three times now and still cry and cheer just like the first time. It's nostalgic while still being fresh and delightful. The soundtrack is also amazing.
