Absolutely fantastic. The strumming of guitars and the galloping ethereal horse across the screen, as the movie started, heralded this being a movie from Maverick Entertainment. And with that, I have to admit that my expectations to the 2018 movie "Love & Drugs" went from slim to none. Yup, I am by no means a particular fan of Maverick Entertainment's movies, as they more often than not, turn out to be dubious and questionable affairs.Regardless, I still opted to give the movie a fair chance, solely because it was a movie that I hadn't already seen, nor actually ever heard about.The storyline in the movie was a swing and a miss. I found very little entertainment in the narrative, and I struggled to keep feigning an interest in the narrative as it trotted on and on and on. And the flaccid character gallery didn't do much to help improve on anything.Of the entire cast ensemble in the movie, I was only familiar with Santosha Nicole. The acting performances in "Love & Drugs" were fair.The best thing about "Love & Drugs" is that it was a major step up in production value in comparison to many older movies from Maverick Entertainment.This is not a movie that I would recommend, nor is it a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.My rating of directors DeMarcus Bailey, Vernon Snoop Robinson and Domenique Smith's 2018 movie "Love & Drugs" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
