Plot summary

Broken-hearted, out-of-work Brooke Yeardley makes her 30th birthday wish on the vision board she made as a hopeful teen. Miraculously her wishes start coming true - from launching her own design business to meeting the man on her vision board - but while life has a way of working out, Brooke learns that it doesn't always work out the way that you expect.

Very Enjoyable Movie--Jackie Moore Shines

Jackie Moore in the lead role is outstanding. Her character has had a bit of a difficult life (romantically), though, really, it seems it wasn't her fault. She's chosen to be an optimist, but has to learn that life doesn't always grant all one's specific wishes. Nevertheless, she is so likable the viewer can't help root for her, unrealistic dreams or not. Jack Pearson is also likable and one roots for him early on. And as much as I usually like Joey Lawrence, in this film he plays the bad guy, romance world-wise, though he plays it well, of course.I won't spoil the film by giving away the plot, but I've never seen this story before. There are interesting character here, including the co-stars, and the film satisfies throughout.I must warn true fans of rom-coms not to put too much into reviews where the reviewer trashes the entire story, actors, director, etc. I see those reviews as written by people who are not really fans of the genre, and who perhaps instead should be looking for the next Academy Award's Best Picture nomination. Rom-Coms are not meant to be that sort of film. If one is going to completely disparage what is in fact a very entertaining movie within this genre, they are reviewing the wrong films. Now obviously, of course, everyone is entitled to review what they want and to state their opinion, but you the rom-com fan should be aware that when someone trashes a rom-com that badly, they might not really be the fan that you are, and you might actually enjoy the movie being reviewed. I did enjoy this one--thoroughly!Bottom line--give LOVE BY DESIGN it a try. As for me, I just hope Jackie Moore treats us to another rom-com, and soon.

Almost Didnt Finish Watching

I can handle B and C rated movies and have historically enjoyed Hallmark movies, despite the same story line and characters.For this movie, I enjoyed the unique story line but the acting was not great. I didnt feel any chemistry and everyconversation felt scripted with little emotion. I love Joey Lawrence and feel he did well in character, but it just felt off in this film. I felt Josh did well, but again, no chemistry when interacting with others.My favorite from the mo ie is the framed TV with the painting screensaver..what a brilliant idea!I will not rematch this unless it is to fall asleep to, and even then not sure ai can handle the fake crying.

Heartwarming lovely film with a great message

I greatly enjoyed this film. It's funny and unique and not what is typically on hallmark etc. The characters seem deeper and more interesting than in typical rom coms found on these networks. There is great chemistry between the leads, and the dog is super cute too. The acting was very natural and easy to watch. It's a great story with an uplifting and wonderful message. Jackie Moore does a great job of playing the lead Brooke and Joey Lawrence is super funny (as he always is). Eric Roberts is very funny in his role and Dee Wallace is amazing as the lead's mom. This is one to not miss! Great love story , great ending. Loved it.
