Plot summary

Sometimes the best things in life happen on the fly. From the moment an injured duck crash-lands on Doug's roof, everything changes. Recently dumped and wallowing in self pity, Doug decides to nurse Pierre back to health with the assistance of an eccentric vet and bird specialist, Holly.

It's funny, a bit corny but in a good way, and features Rhys Darby, a duck, and a lot of Queen music. What's not to like?

Respected director, hit NZ comic and Sally Hawkins

Respected director, hit NZ comic and Sally Hawkins get together with a script by a guy that appeared in a minor role in "Braindead", (or "Dead Alive" in some markets) - this film however is not worth seeing, it has the resonance and flow of a NZ television commercial for insurance or Toyota cars focusing on stuff about ducks, romance with wooden performances that don't really push the story along a great deal. Poster design is derivative also.

The only saving grace was the forever wonderful

The only saving grace was the forever wonderful Sally Hawkins, who tried the best she could to make do with the abysmal script/writing.
