Plot summary

Absolutely the worst shark movie ever

And contender for one of the worst movies ever made. Clearly someone decided to cash in on the shark movie craze while spending the least amount of money possible. They didnt even splurge for really bad CGI, except for the CGI stock footage (probably AI?)... they simply made a fake shark out of plaster of Paris (Its that bad). But the shark takes a backseat to some really horribly-written drama between the two main characters. There is no action, no thriller.... just drama between a couple fighting over relationship woes. And some weird subplot regarding the couple and shark being filmed by a megacorp while they try to tell all these whimsical allegorical stories that are very boring.... what in God's name is this nonsense? The whole time I watched this I kept asking why there aren't any oars in the boat that can be used to move the boat (because they are stuck in very deep water). Then out of nowhere the girl pulls out an oar and breaks it in half on her knee like Bo Jackson... smh.Pros: The main female actor is somewhat easy on the eyes? Is that even a pro?Cons: Anything and everything you can imagine.

Needless to say that I had, indeed, never even heard about this 2025 movie prior to stumbling upon it by random chance here in 2026. And with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, and a shark movie at that, of course I had to check it out.The storyline in the movie was pretty straightforward, but also rather generic for a shark movie. So writer Brett Bentman, whom also directed the movie, didn't exactly reinvent the shark genre here. Sure, it was a watchable enough movie, though you're not in for anything grand.It was in the movie's favor that I wasn't familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list. I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were generally fair.The shark in the movie was pretty awful to look at, looking like it was made from Papier-mâché.This is hardly a movie that warrants more than a single viewing.Watchable for what it was. My rating of writer and director Brett Bentman's 2025 movie "Lone Star Shark" lands on a generous four out of ten stars.
