Plot summary

An old man and a young woman meet in Tokyo. She knows nothing about him, he thinks he knows her. He welcomes her into his home, she offers him her body. But the web that is woven between them in the space of twenty four hours bears no relation to the circumstances of their encounter.

Incredibly slow paced, the last third or so started to get interesting, but then the ending was pretty disappointing.

Like Someone in Love (2012) Lack of Conclusion Destroys the Film (12,285 - 18 Feb 2026 – Claudio Carvalho) In Tokyo, the call girl Akiko (Rin Takanashi) attends the widower Takashi Watanabe (Tadashi Okuno) in his house outside Tokyo. Takashi is a former professor, writer and translator and treats Akiko like a granddaughter. On the next morning, he drives her to the university where she studies and knows her abusive boyfriend, the mechanic Noriaki ( Ryô Kase), who believes he is her grandfather. Takashi lies to him and suggests he doesn’t marry Akiko. "Like Someone in Love" (2012) is another overrated film by Abbas Kiarostami. The plot is not bad, but the lack of conclusion destroys the film. The beauty of Rin Takanashi is impressive. My vote is five.
