Plot summary

Spencer is a cat person. Laura is a dog person. Spencer is headed to a beach town to work on his thesis. Laura is coming to the same beach town to escape the shambles of her life. Their personalities couldn’t be more different, but when a reservation screw up lands them – and their pets – in the same vacation rental house, they all have to figure out how to get along with each other.

For some reason I found this Hallmark movie to be a particularly touching one.

I really wanted to like this movie, but

I really wanted to like this movie, but it fell flat. Both the writing and the acting share the responsibility. The writing was shallow as it didn't spend enough time building the characters to develop a connection with them. The two main characters had zero chemistry and their interactions seemed forced and awkward. At times their acting was almost painful to watch. I kept wondering how much better it might have been if they had cast other people in the rolls. This movie was not the quality you expect from Hallmark.
