A beautiful poetic film about simply love conquering

A beautiful poetic film about simply love conquering all. A clever concept of the devil sending 2 envoy's to a castle in Medieval times to create division & suffering. Filled with some scenes & lush stunning photography this film truly is worth the watch. The concepts in this film are excellent & the French Actor who plays the devil is sensational. Ultimately love stays strong & with beautiful costumes & music this film is just a real gem.

I love another film from director Marcel Carne

I love another film from director Marcel Carne, "Children of Paradise", so I had high expectations for this one which unfortunately the film didn't' live up to. It is a good movie, and shares the same female lead in Arletty, but isn't the masterpiece that "Children of paradise" is. That being said, this is still an interesting and well-shot film that is definitely worth a watch.Ultimately I did enjoy it and can recommend it to fans of foreign or classic cinema.
