A family's getaway to a luxurious rental home takes an ominous turn when a cyberattack knocks out their devices—and two strangers appear at their door.
i asked Ms ChatGPT to rewrite my rant;
"This film isn’t confusing — it just doesn’t spoon-feed.
If you’re stuck asking “but who did it???” you’ve already missed the point. The movie isn’t about the cause of collapse; it’s about how embarrassingly fast modern society falls apart once the apps stop working and authority goes silent.
No zombies, no aliens required — just people who don’t understand the systems they depend on, panicking when those systems fail. That’s the horror.
Wanting a neat explanation or sequel is kind of the joke. The film is showing you that the need for constant reassurance, clarity, and control is part of the problem.
This isn’t a disaster movie. It’s a mirror.
And judging by the comments, a lot of people didn’t like what they saw."
great film with a great OST - doesn't surprise me the majority of the YTS complainers didn't enjoy it.
it's not difficult to understand... it's the collapse of the American system.
It doesn't matter "whois responsible!?"
It could even been the entire collapse of global society... orchestrated by one insanely intelligent disuptor... or a group of misanthropic humanoids hell bent on destroying global society or humanity in general.
its a good film that highlights arrogant ignorance, conTROLL (or the lack of), complete dependency on the compliant complacent, reliance on technology that most people don't even understand and take for granted.
being sent back to the dark ages over night and how quickly it becomes every dog for him(her) self.
it's like a zombie movie without a zombie outbreak... just a breakdown of modern society.
there's no need for a sequel or detailed explanation of how it happened or if anyone survives. it's fairly obvious... humanity ends up destroying itself and the planet.
much peace and many blessings... be kind to yourself and others ;p
ya fkn karnts x0x0x
Producers, critics etc can go ahead and endorse, promote and try to convince the quality of the ending but it still SUCKS for the majority of us that watched it.
This movie left me behind, the beginning was long and the ending was rushed with so many unanswered questions.
this could have been a good movie but failed in so many ways.
OK to watch..
But it's a Netfcks production, and it should have been W. Snipes in it with some more CGI, but other than that, it's ok, it's an ok watch, if you are bored or half baked...
Strange but very enjoyable movie. It's long but it is not slow by any means - keeps you on your toes. The ending sucks a bit??? Kinda like a series that got canceled -- overall I think it is a pretty decent movie.
8/10. If you like and consider < 10 Cloverfield Lane > is a good movie, you should like this one as well. Especially the ending, it’s the best part of the movie, and it makes me wander if they will make a sequel to this movie, because it still has plenty of plots to play around.
