The Twin (2022) Underrated Movie about Insanity (11,863

The Twin (2022) Underrated Movie about Insanity (11,863 – 29 Jul 2025 – by Claudio Carvalho) While driving in the countryside of New York, Rachel Doyle (Teresa Palmer), her husband Anthony Doyle (Steven Cree) and Nathan (Tristan Ruggeri) have a car accident and Nathan dies. Some time later, Rachel and Anthony and the twin Elliot travel to Anthony’s hometown in Finland to have a fresh restart. The locals prepare a reception for Rachel and Anthony but treat her coldly. The middle-aged widow Helen (Barbara Marten), who is considered crazy by the residents, talks to Rachel and explains that the locals are pagan, and Elliot made a wish in a sacred stone that was granted. Now a demon wants Elliot’s soul. Anthony does not talk to Elliot, who suddenly tells Rachel that he is Nathan. What is happening to the family? “The Twin” (2022) is an underrated movie about insanity, with a very intelligent story and smart screenplay. The plot in some moment recalls “Spellbinder” (1988) “Midsommar” (2019), “The Omen” and “Rosemery’s Baby”. But the great actress Teresa Palmer surprises again, like in “Restraint” (2008), with two great twists in the ending. Her amazing performance gives credibility to the story of a grieving woman who uses her imagination to proceed her life and learns the truth in the end. Maybe viewers have not understood the story, who knows? Or maybe the distributors used a wrong approach, like in the ridiculous Brazilian title. The last scene is probably the best moment in the story and confirms Anthony’s explanation. My vote is seven. Not going to lie, started this film due to Teresa Palmer being in it. We open with heartache and familial suffering, and I'm not sure of the trains at this point. We've a new female character, and she is a real pip, if I say so myself. There is Evil song into the air this family breathes, it appears this is developing into a folklore tale. Vile wickedness is an understatement, such horrendous behavior. The needle pushed in and the mind waivers, is up still up or is it out and not even down. Such a Deliciously Wicked Tale, that was Masterfully Executed, that Never slowed the story developing.
