Disappointing on two levels. I watched it with expectations based on promotion for the movie which suggested it's a more complex take on the premise from A Christmas Carol. It's not a holiday themed film at all. Second, there's never any explanation for why this is all happening or why it's happening to this person (random magic?), and the ending is unsatisfying because it is deliberately ambiguous and intended to be uplifting, but can be so only by violating the established rules of the story.
THANKS!
Thanks, Freeman!

Based on the screens I'd say it looks like a lo-budget attemt to copy Jim Jarmush's work, as in: a zany premise and gallery of characters, a lot of talking, and a metal-philosophical background. Note that I said 'copy'. We'll see if it's actually any good.
