I never thought of writer Jackie Collins as

I never thought of writer Jackie Collins as someone on the forefront of women's lib, but a throw away line in the documentary about her life explains a lot. She thought her father was a philanderer and as a consequence she certainly made life more vivid for those who read her novels. When the doc discusses the backstory of Collins it's on point, but when we begin literary readings it comes to a screeching halt. Nothing critical here, so that's a problem as we all make mistakes. If you're into this kinda thing, you'll enjoy. Final Score: 6/10

This is everything you want in a film

This is everything you want in a film -it makes you laugh, cry, moves you, inspires you, and is deeply thought-provoking -but above all, it’s a testament to the director’s sensitivity and creative vision. She crafts a truthful, beautifully layered portrait that connects us intimately to the woman behind the icon, revealing the strength, vulnerability, and determination that shaped Jackie’s life. The message - "Girls can do anything."- resonates powerfully as Jackie Collins breaks boundaries and builds her empire on her own terms. The director also tenderly captures Jackie’s equal, respectful partnership with her husband, Oscar -we all need an Oscar! and the loving closeness she shared with her daughters, whose reflections add emotional depth. Sensitively and artfully made, this is a rare documentary I could watch again and again -profound, uplifting, and unforgettable.
