Plot summary

Upstanding community leader Nils has just won an award for "Citizen of the Year" when he learns the news that his son has died of a heroin overdose. Suspecting foul play, Nils begins to investigate, and soon finds himself at the center of an escalating underworld gang war between Serbian drug dealers and a sociopathic criminal mastermind known only as “The Count.”

Very satisfying and funny Norwegian revenge comedy. In

Very satisfying and funny Norwegian revenge comedy. In some ways it reminded us of In Bruges - dark, violent, absurd and unexpectedly funny. Stellan Skarsgård is always appealing, and here he was especially good as the rock-steady, revenge-filled father. The unhinged "Count" played by Pål Sverre Hagen was wonderfully ridiculous and made us laugh out loud.

It is known that revenge is a dish

It is known that revenge is a dish eaten cold and this applies especially well in Norway where the hero operates massive snow plowing machinery. The many deceased are immortalized with on screen inscriptions bearing their names and crosses or other symbols of their religious affiliations.
