Plot summary

It's slightly unfair to call it Lynchian but

It's slightly unfair to call it Lynchian but not wholly unjustified. There's hints of Wes Anderson, Jim Jarmusch, perhaps a touch of early Peter Jackson and Tim Burton, and even a wonderful nod to John Hughes. In the end, it's none of and all of the above. It's influences seem clear but none of it comes off as derivative. I'm a little shocked that this has apparently remained under the radar for these past 7 years but such is the current state of movie making and modern audiences.

Most "audience" viewers that have rated this clearly

Most "audience" viewers that have rated this clearly do not get it. Think along the lines of Twin Peaks. It's not David Lynch, but it is fantastic, weird, and thought provoking. It's a unique, slow burn and it really works. I highly recommend this to anyone that likes to watch real movies. I hope Jennifer Reeder has a chance in her career to make some films with full creative control. I think she'd blow is away.
