Oh the joy of listening to that strumming of a guitar and seeing that ethereal horse galloping across the screen, heralding it being a Maverick Entertainment movie. Yeah, I can't exactly claim that I am overly much a fan of Maverick Entertainment and the mass-produced overly stereotypical movies that have had a tendency of panhandling upon the audience. But since this was a movie that I had neither heard about nor seen, of course I opted to give writer and director Felicia Rivers's 2024 movie the benefit of the doubt.Throughout the course of the movie, in its prolonged 82 minute runtime, I have to say that I was sitting with a sense of 'when is the narrative going to kick into gear?' and also 'was there a point to this movie?' towards the end of the ordeal. Needless to say that I was not impressed with the script and narrative that Felicia Rivers pieced together for this movie.Despite the fact of having sat through many of the movies from Maverick Entertainment, I can't claim to be familiar anyone on the cast list, and that was actually something that spoke in favor of the movie, as I do enjoy watching new and unfamiliar talents on the screen. The acting performances in the movie were not particularly great.One thing that was nice about the movie, was that it was a step up from the usual dubious stuff that Maverick Entertainment tends to spew forth. Just a shame that the narrative was so sluggish and uninteresting.This is not a movie that I would recommend you to sit down and spend 82 minutes on watching. Some of us literally suffered through this ordeal, so you don't have to - you're very welcome. And trust me, this is not a movie that I will ever return to watch a second time.My rating of writer and director Felicia Rivers's 2024 movie "Kill 'Em with a Smile" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.
