Plot summary

All Gary wants is to make awesome home movies with his best buds. All his older sister Samantha wants is to hang with the cool kids. When their parents head out of town one Halloween weekend, an all-time rager of a teen house party turns to terror when aliens attack, forcing the siblings to band together to survive the night.

This has to be the weakest of the VHS franchise. I'm not sure if it's suppose to be a kid version but na, it was just not good. The main thing that throws me off is the script. It seems unnatural and not convincing at all. The film also has this old style filter, which I get, it's suppose to be, but it just mad me feel dizzy. Such a shame cause the aliens in VHS 2 was more believable and realistic.

I enjoyed it. Definitely a kids movie except f bombs every other interaction, so maybe not supposed to be a kids movie idk. Low budget and story not great but a fun movie to just watch and don’t overthink it.

Don't movies usually have a target audience in mind? The story is childish and could only appeal to the very young or very simple minded, but the dialogue is foul and the action is gory and obviously inappropriate for children. Several of the child actors do give creditable performances. Phoebe Rex is particularly good, but honestly! Who is this movie made for?
